Last night David and I met up with Emma and Josh at Angels Stadium in Anaheim, CA to see my beloved Detroit Tigers take on the Angels in the second game of their 3 game series. While the Tigers lost 1-0, the game was really a good one … and if it wasn’t for that teeny, tiny point it would’ve been a much better game ;) We had a total blast tho. Last night was my first visit to Angels Stadium and I have to tell you, I loved it entirely. Everyone is so friendly there. Sometimes, opposing team fans are treated poorly at games like this and while I’m sure that does happen even at Angels Stadium, I saw no sign of malice at all. Angels fans are a class act and I am really looking forward to attending another game there soon.

Tonight, David and I are heading back to Anaheim, CA to see New Kids on the Block and Backstreet Boys in concert at the Honda Center. I’ve never seen NKOTB before so I figured, what the Hell. Late yesterday afternoon, David and I met up with our dear friend Gillian and a group of new friends at the Cat and Fiddle Pub in Hollywood to hang out, share stories and break bread together. Altho it was a pretty hot day, we managed to enjoy the beautiful SoCal weather in the cool shade.The rest of the day was pretty low key … so it was basically the perfect lazy Summer day.

The Cat & Fiddle Pub is one of the first places I visited on my first visit to LA all those years ago and I always forget what a great place it is. The atmosphere is so relaxed. Unfortch the location isn’t the best which means that parking is a nightmare but I was reminded yesterday how much I love that place :)

As I mentioned, the rest of the day was pretty quiet … David and I just hung out at home. I love how you can literally feel things slowing down as we settle into Summer. Stephen Colbert has JUST received approval from the Federal Election Commission (FEC) for a "Colbert Super PAC," which will give him permission to "produce and air political advertisements." AWE-SOME.

It gets even better though! Stephen has also gotten permission to use Comedy Central parent company Viacom's production resources/airtime/staff without his ads being seen as an "in-kind" contribution from the company.

Basically what this means is that he'll be able to create political ads and express his views without Viacom having to be closely associated with his "politicking"...which is good, because they don't want to be. LOLz.

At this point, it looks like his ads will only be allowed to run during his show...but at least he'll be able to get the word out there!
